Chapter 1 & 2
Joel was having a simple normal everyday walk in the mountains, when he ran into two people. Joel and his sister Malthace. They talked about his family that he had not seen in years, because he ran away from a blacksmith named Amalek. They talked about Simon the Zealot, and the Messiah. Ebol then interrupted their conversation, saying that there was a job for them to get a very large, strong slave that Rosh wanted. Joel didn't want to leave, so he hid his sister on the ridge and joined Daniel. After the signal to attack, they took hold of the slave, and Joel met Rosh himself. Daniel becomes jealous of Joel, because he thought that Rosh was treating him differently than everyone else. After that, Joel went nack to the camp, with the slave, Daniel fed him, and unshackles his chains. The people of the camp thought that he was so big, that they might as well call him Samson.
Chapter 3 & 4
Samson stayed near to Daniel and soon earned his keep and respect at the camp. Simon the Zealot then came and told him that it was safe tor him to go back to the village to see his family because Amalek was dead. Daniel of course went to see his grandmother and his sister Leah, who is still afraid, and didn't recognize him at all at first. He truly felt homesick for the mountains. When the Sabbath came Simon brought Daniel new and clean clothes so he could go to the Synagogue and meet Jesus. When Jesus spoke he spoke softly, but his voice was heard by everyone. After Jesus spoke, everyone was amazed. After the service in the synagogue, Daniel wondered of Jesus was a Zealot. Simon told Daniel that the people of Nazareth tried to kill Jesus.
Chapter 5 & 6
Daniel left the mountains to go to Capernaum to find Joel, so that he could be recruited for Rosh's cause. He watched Jesus, and after that, Roman soldiers came and passed by. Daniel then made his way to Joel's house, and spent dinner there. He had an argument with Joel's father, and then he was forbidden to see Joel ever again. Joel had lost his recruit and his only friend. On his way back to the mountains, he stopped for a drink, while a Roman came and asked for a drink. Daniel then threw the pot of water in his face. The Roman then ran after him in hot pursuit, and hit Daniel with a spear. Daniel went back to Joel's house and Joel and Malthace nurtured him back to his health. He was moved to a secret room.
Chapter 7 & 8
Daniel opened up about his family and Joel and Thacia were so moved that they took an oath with Daniel. He said that his mom died shortly after her father was crucified which his sister had seen and she was never the same again. Daniel went back to the mountain without their knowledge. Samson took care of Daniel and after he was better he went to find Simon. Simon had closed his shop to follow Jesus so Joel and Daniel left to find Simon. They saw miracles and Simon gave Daniel the parts he needed for Rosh as a gift.
Chapter 9 & 10
Daniel stole a rich mans money bag but still gave him one of his daggers so he could protect himself. Daniel realized that Jesus saw the people as children of God not implements as Rosh saw them. Daniel went to the house to see his Grandma because she was dying. He had to bust open the door and found his frightened sister and dying grandma. He talked to his grandma reciting versus and his sister joined him. Sometime in the night his Grandma died.
Chapter 11 & 12
After the funeral Simon gave Daniel his Blacksmith shop and his house adjoining it to live and work in. They built a wagon to take Leah in so nobody would see her. Leah took care of the garden in the back, bread making, and cleaning. A Roman soldier came into his shop and with great rudeness Daniel repaired the part he needed. Nathan joined Daniels group and Joel brought Kemuel and they held meetings in Simon's house. Their sign was the bronze bow from

a Psalm of David.
Chapter 13 & 14
Thacia came with Joel to see Daniel and Leah. Daniel got Leah a cloth for her to replace her old one. When he went back to the mountain only Samson cared that he had come and had brought him a sheep to eat. He remembered when he ate dinner with Jesus and they had all taken less then was needed to feed those outside.
Chapter 15 & 16
Daniel came to see Jesus every day because he could not get his words out of his head. Thacia's visits steadily helped Leah. Rosh gave Joel an assignment to get information about a banquette to help with planing. Daniel gave Thacia a bronze bow he made and took her home.
Chapter 17 & 18
Rosh raided all the houses belonging to people who went to the banquette. Daniels band of zealots stole a Roman catapult and dismantled it. Thacia told Daniel that they had taken Joel but didn't't know who he was. Rosh did not do anything so Daniel devised a plan because he was their new leader.
Chapter 19 & 20
They went to their hiding place to wait for the caravan with Joel. They freed Joel but Nathan and Samson were dead. Daniel remembered a phrase "They who live by the sword will perish by the sword." Jesus had said once. Joel left for Jerusalem but before he left he said that Jesus had to be warned and he was invited to a festival.
Chapter 21 & 22
Daniel went to the upper room with Jesus and told him about his troubles. Jesus said that Samson gave his life in love, and can you repay love with hate? Jesus asked what his vow was and Daniel said it was to live and die for God's victory. Jesus said it was not a vow of hate and that he would have him follow himself but Daniel still did not get it that fighting was not the answer. He went to the festival and saw Thacia dancing then he left because he didn't't belong. Thacia came after him and he said their was no room for anyone else. Leah told Daniel that a Roman, Marcus, had given her the basket of fine fruit and he became furious and he used awful language. She said he had talked to her over the wall. She went back to where she had started at the beginning.
Chapter 23 & 24
He went to find Jesus but he couldn't because Jesus had gone up to the hills with Simon/Peter, James, and John. He talked with Simon about how to be free with chains still on and Simon said that your soul have to be free of hate and fear. All Daniel had left was his hatred and his vow. Daniel sent Jokton to get Thacia because Leah was dying but he did not come back for three days and in those three days the soldier Marcus waited to see Leah in the hot sun. Thacia brought Jesus with her and Daniel thought Could love only bend the bow of bronze? Jesus healed Leah and she said she knew how Jairus' daughter felt. He went after Jesus but when he saw Marcus he invited him in to say goodbye to Leah. Daniel did not hate him after seeing this.
